Larger pulley wheels (13T/15T or more) can marginally reduce power consumption, as shown in laboratory tests. The high-level competitors may find it worthwhile to invest in oversized pulley wheels but for most other occasions, standard-size pulley wheels just work perfectly.

    Material Comparison:
    Delrin     – Durable, lightweight, and quiet; an affordable, no-frills option.
    Carbon Fiber – Ultra-light and stylish but slightly noisier and less durable.
    Alloy – Long-lasting with a mild noise increase over Delrin, offering a sleek look.
    Titanium – Premium durability, lightweight, and visually striking but at a higher cost.
     

    Tooth Count & Compatibility:

    11T (Diameter: 42mm) – Fits most systems (short, medium, and long cage).
    12T (Diameter: 46mm) & 13T (Diameter: 51mm) & 15T (Diameter:59mm) – Suitable for medium and long cages.
    14T (49.5mm) – Mostly for MTB setups.

    Larger pulley wheels offer slight efficiency gains and a sleek appearance but require cage compatibility.


    Narrow-Wide Tooth System:
    Designed for SRAM Eagle (2.2mm narrow, 3.7mm wide), while other pulley wheels use a standard narrow-tooth design. It can be used for Shimano system as well.
