PriceFrom $8.00

A selected range of 608 (8x22x7mm) bearings from trusted names: HSC Ceramic, Aita Ceramic, NTN, and Enduro. Each brand offers proven performance, whether you’re a commuter, racer, or weekend rider.

HSC Ceramics, a 100% Australian-owned brand, assembles its bearings in Melbourne using ABEC 7 steel races and Si3N4 Grade 3 ceramic balls. Affordable yet high-performing, HSC bearings have been trusted locally for over 20 years and even power record-holding Australian cyclists (116 km/h).

Aita Ceramic has supported Australian Paralympians and National Teams since 2015, contributing to Olympic gold medals and multiple Australian and Oceania records. Working with the Australian Institute of Sport, Aita delivers a wide range of high-performance ceramic bearings, and their bottom bracket range covers virtually every standard in the market. Compared to the HSC brand, Aita can be a bit more expensive, but considering their high profile and in comparison with other international brands, the price is still very competitive.

NTN, a Japanese bearing manufacturer with over 100 years of history. The NTN 608 (8x22x7mm) LLB non-contact seal bearing is made in Japan. The build and quality are second to none in the steel bearing area. It is not a cheap cycling bearing option, but it is truly worth the investment, they are smooth and can last a long time, saving you from frequent visits to your bike store for replacements.

Enduro Bearings, with over 30 years of bicycle-specific expertise, is trusted worldwide for its steel and ceramic options. Their range delivers consistent performance across road, gravel, and MTB riding.

With options from local innovators to global leaders, our 608 (8x22x7mm) bearings offer smoothness, durability, and proven reliability for every cycling condition.

  • HSC Ceramic Bearing Specifications

    • Grade 3, Si3N4 ceramic balls (Made in Japan): Surpass steel balls in roundness by a factor of 8 and offer a remarkable 4 times smoother performance.
    • ABEC 7 alloy steel races: Engineered to provide high precision and stability for a superior riding experience.
    • Pre-lubricated with HSC Ceramic Grease and sealed (Made in Australia): Our specially formulated grease ensures minimal resistance, maximizing efficiency and speed.
    • C3 clearance: Play a crucial role in ensuring optimal performance and longevity of bearings. It determines the level of tightness when the bearing is installed in the BB or hub shell, as well as the snug fit of the axle into the inner race. Choosing C3 clearance provides a safer option, as it allows for the necessary pre-load on races commonly found in BBs and hubs. This helps prevent issues such as tight and notchy operations, ensuring a smoother and more reliable experience.
    • Assembled and hand-checked in Australia: Every bearing is meticulously crafted and inspected by our team to ensure top-notch quality.
  • AITA Ceramic Bearing Specifications

    • ABEC7 high chrome vacuum degassed bearing steel races with quenching and tempering hardening.
    • Ultra-smooth polished bearing raceway.
    • Low-friction ceramic grease minimizes friction and increases bearing life.
    • Light-contact rubber seals keep dirt and moisture out.
    • Grade 3 Si3N4 ceramic bearing balls (Made in Japan): Surpass steel balls in roundness by a factor of 8 and offer a remarkable 4 times smoother performance. Delivering exceptional smoothness and reduced friction for optimal performance.

  • NTN Steel Bearing Specifications

    • Chrome steel bearing races.
    • Steel bearing balls.
    • Made in Japan
    • Non-contact seals (LLB): reduce friction and enhance efficiency, allowing for improved speed and control in cycling.
    • LLB vs LLU Seal: The LLB seal is a non-contact type seal used in NTN bearings. It features very low torque and excellent dust-proofing. Its high-speed capacity is comparable to open-type seals, delivering minimal friction in wheel hubs. A light, waterproof grease is applied to enhance its waterproofing capabilities, making it ideal for cycling.

On the other hand, the LLU seal is a contact type, which results in medium torque during bearing rotation. While it offers good dust and waterproofing features, its performance is limited by the contact nature of the seals. LLU seals are typically used in industrial applications where the working environment is more demanding.

For smooth, low-friction, high-performance cycling on both road and gravel, the LLB seal is the ideal option.
  • Enduro Steel Bearing Specifications

    • ABEC-3 bearing with deep-groove design races
    • Grade 10 balls for precision and durability
    • LLB seals with 90% fill of high-pressure waterproof grease, built to withstand daily use and harsh elements
