The most common question we have been asked is: What bearings do I need to replace my current DT Swiss hub's?
This is a broad and complex question that requires breaking it down to solve this puzzle.
DT Swiss Hub Bearing

DT Swiss hubs are very commonly used in both DT Swiss brand wheels and other branded wheels.
If your wheelset is DT Swiss, determining the bearings used in the hub is relatively straightforward.
You’ll need:
The hub model (e.g., 180, 240)
The hub axle diameter (e.g., 15mm, 17mm, 18mm, or 25mm)
DT Swiss uses specific types of bearings for each hub model, making it easier to find the right match. You can use the following link to check compatible DT Swiss bearing combinations (NTN Steel bearing range):
In addition to our Made-in-Japan NTN bearing range, you may also consider upgrading to our Australian-made ceramic bearings from HSC Ceramics and Aita Ceramic.
To make your selection easier, we’ve listed all the common bearing sizes used in DT Swiss hubs below. Simply follow the link to choose from NTN, HSC, Aita, or Enduro, depending on your preference.
Common DT Swiss Bearing Sizes (Dimensions in mm)
Bearing Code | Size (ID × OD × Width) |
15 × 24 × 5 mm | |

25 × 37 × 7 mm | |
15 × 28 × 7 mm | |

Other Brand Wheels with DT Swiss Hubs
For wheels from other brands, it’s best to remove the hub end caps and check the markings on the bearing seals. If you find a marking like "6902," as shown in the photo below, you're in luck; you’ve pinpointed the bearing you need. It is a 6902 (it is also called 61902) in size of 15 x 28 x 7mm.
However, the tricky part is that, as with DT Swiss hubs, there may be a different-sized bearing on the other side of the hub. Don't take any chances; this can happen with both the front and rear hubs. So, it’s always worth checking both sides to confirm.

If markings are unclear, you will need to measure the actual bearing size (inner and outer diameters) to find a right match. No stress, you won't need to remove the bearing out from the shell to check its width, as the good news is knowing the bearing's inner and outer diameter, you can pretty much find the matching bearings for DT Swiss from the information we provided as follows.
